Hello all,
Though this question refers to a Audix/Merlin integration, it seems the Audix gurus are in this forum. We have an Audix R4.4 Map5P connected to a Merlin Legend R7 via 8 analog ports. About every 5 to 10 minutes one of the VM ports will ring the main console 1 time. Any ideas as to why this is happening and more important, how to stop it would be appreciated.

Is outcalling turned on in the Intuity? Do "display system outcalling" I believe is the command. Is it always the last port that is calling to the console? Does it just ring once and then hang up? Can the console operator pick the call up, and if so what do they hear when they pick up?
Is "ignore rotary digits" stroked "yes" on the audix port in the Legend? What exactly is shown on the display when the call comes in?

First, thanks for the quick reply, orypecos. Some of your questions will have to be answered Monday (the customer currently doesn't have a RM number)

1)I believe outcalling is turned "on" (but i will verify)
2)No, not just the last port, it seems to cycle
3)No the call cannot be answered, by the time you reach for the phone, the call is gone.
4)The display just shows the assigned VM port (i.e.: 7130, 7138, etc).

When the call comes in, does the audix port that is calling, have "R=" or anything else if front of the station?
Has anything been changed on either system right before it started happening?
Do u have call accouting and if so, does call accounting indicate possible toll fraud?

This is a re-install (moved from 1 town to another) and the problem just started with the installation (no trouble at old loc). I was thinking it might have to do with the audix's audits or MW updates, or, well, just about anything (exluding aliens- for the moment)

I think that I would call each port and see if they are wired correctly to each port in the Intuity. U can call the port and watch that it actually goes to the correct port in the Intuity by watching the system monitor.

orypecos,
first thanks for the suggestions. i ended up calling Avaya (ouch) it seems, at least with a Merlin, the machine name of the AA mailboxes have to be assigned a value of 0 instead of the default 1. This prevents MWI updates to the AA stations (that don't exist in the Merlin and therefore defaulted to the main console as an I-don't-know-what-to do-with-it call).
