Hi,

We are looking into getting some patching and auditing software for our network. At the moment we are still running an NT domain structure, but will hopefully move to AD in the next 12 months. I don't need to know serial numbers just what apps are installed on machines.

Is their an application that does this and patching? Is it best to get auditing software and a different patcher? Shavlik looked a good product.

Any information would be most welcome.

Best wishes

Michael

Let Shavlik handle the Hotfix and Service Pack issues relating to the OS.

To audit your software installations, you can use the excellent freeware AID32. There is a network version if you are comfortable with ODBC and Access:

I have to say this software is superb. Almost too good to be true. Easy to use and gives you all you want. Puts the commercial writers to shame. Nice to see someone love his software and let it be used for FREE!!
