audio/video doesn't sync capturing dv

I'm using a mac G3 capturing dv via firewire from a digital camcorder. I'm only getting video this way. I hooked up rca cables to get the audio, but the audio doesn't sync with the video. Is there a way to get Premier to capture the audio and video at the same rate or to use the firewire to capture both? Thanks
