In a conference call is there an option to let a user who has just entered the call know how many other people are already in the brigdge? Something like "You are caller #2 to this call".

No, not that I know of.

Standard conferencing in IPO doesn't allow for any audio notification. Just 1 beep for user adding and 2 beeps for leaving.

Conference Centre allows for the recording of users names and announcing that name when the join/leave but not saying the number.
