Audio loss with and after games, help please...

My audio runs fine and I have the latest drivers installed, but when I run any of my games the audio cuts off after a couple of seconds. When quitting the game no audio will work anymore, eg winamp mp3 player, or anything audio!
Also once this has happened the system wont auto restart properly. I tried reinstalling windows me + all my drivers but no good.
