We have a slight problem on a deal with are working on. The client wants to feed the audio feed from a Sky box to all of the users on their phone (on demand) when they need to listen. They can't/won't put it as MOH.

Does anyone have any ideas/knowledge of doing this? I'm thinking maybe some kind of paging unit, but the ability to listen!

I'm going mad over this as it's such a small problem!

Any ideas would be welcome.

Cheers.

I don't understand maybe but paging to the phone ?
or do you mean when the user want to listen ?
send it with vmpro ?

They want to manually listen to the channel, probably with the speaker phone.

Paging equipment is probably the way forward - but I have no real experience with them, apart from hooking them up in the traditional sense over an analogue port!

So esentially Sky box set to Sky News for example, and the users want to press a speed dial of some sort and listen to the channel (but not over MOH)

Can you just have the sky box dial a conference bridge short code - or have equipment that makes the connection. Users that want to listen access the same bridge?

This is the purpose of the *34 shortcode. You client is asking to reinvent an existing feature. I haven't tested, But I wonder if they uncheck use external MOH if *34 will still work for MOH. I would try that.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. That's the solution I've thought of Intrigrant after racking my brains for ages!

It can't be MOH full stop, as we need I believe 2 different stations connected (2 Sky boxes I assume). So I've thought of Sky box - audio wire - RJ11 - into port of phone. That phone can connect to a conference, and then people if they want, can use call monitor (so it will be silent etc so people can't speak). Just hope the audio wire into the phone will work!

until you have to reboot the system and the sky box needs to redial the conference!!!!!

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Depending on the audio quality needed, I would consider a doorbox type arrangement to an analog trunk port. Route to conf bridge. Press a button to initiate the conference.

Are'nt we due multiple MOH Sources on the product map?
I know its not an instant help but if you could make do with some thing for the time being, I think some sort of Monitor or indeed conference may be the best approach.

The multiple MOH sources are basically .wav files loaded in memory.

Well the reboot is a point to consider - so it could be done manually - or I'm thinking what should work is set the extn up as a hotline - the phone will be off hook and after a reboot should just dial the conference straight away....will have to test!

could you setup a paging port with a PAM-10 barrier box, I think it can pass audio both ways, then just monitor that port.
