I'm sort of confused, I have an Attendant station set up to act as our primary switchboard, but we have a second attendant station thats used periodically during busy times at our Hotel.

However, for some reason, my primary Switchboard is using the wrong music source. Below is the configuration for both:

ATTENDANT CONSOLE 1

Type: console Name: Hotel Switchboard
Extension: 6100 Group: 1 Auto Answer: none
Console Type: principal TN: 1 Data Module? n
Port: 04A1509 COR: 0 Disp Client Redir? n
COS: 0 Display Language: english
H.320 Conversion? y

which uses tenant / music source....

TENANT 1

Tenant Description: New SG Phones

Attendant Group: 1

Ext Alert Port (TAAS):

Night Destination: 6109

Music Source: 2

Attendant Vectoring VDN:

And the second tenant (Our always-on Primary) as...

ATTENDANT CONSOLE 2

Type: console Name: Main Switchboard
Extension: 3330 Group: 2 Auto Answer: none
Console Type: principal TN: 10 Data Module? n

COS: 0 Display Language: english

On tenant 10...

TENANT 10

Tenant Description: New Gondola Base

Now...what's weird here, is if you dial attendant 2 directly (3330) it uses the proper music...

But if you just punch "0" it somehow ends up using the Hotels Music-on-Hold from Source 2, rather than source 1 as specified in Tenant 10.

How can I check/change the routing of the "0" digit dial?

Also, I just 'experimentally' changed the first attendant to use Music source 1 as well...and saved that configuration...

and pressing "0" still plays the wrong music (the hotels)

What the heck!

I beleive if you call the attendant and you are on hold it would be your station TN number for music. Try calling to an ouside line and have them put you on hold.

Tried that too - my tenant is 10, which is music source 1, but what seems to play (only when I press 0) is music source 2.

I'm sort of confused. These tenant/partitions were set up before I got her, so I'm wondering how to troubleshoot this.

It doesn't make sense that it ONLY does it when you dial 0

If you dial both tenants at 3330/6100, it gives you the proper music.

Thinking I might just open a tick to AVAYA on this one

read the tenant partitioning section of the Feature Description for your CM software version. It's about 30 pages. Tenant 1 is like the shared tenant that everyone can communicate with. Dial 0, attendants, MOH, night service, have many interactions, limitations that you should read up on.

It sounds like CM is using your tenant and music source if you dial an extension but if you dial 0 it is turning the call over to the attendant and uses their tenant and source.

Hmm...I suppose that makes sense, there needs to be at least one shared music source in any setup to cover things like the vectoring "music" command.

It shouldn't be too hard to play tenant shuffle, at any rate. I'll see if I can figure this out, probably going to have to scoot a good majority of stations and VDNs off Tenant 1. Man I hope theres a way to partially automate that haha...

Thanks 83 (AT3?)
