Attachment in Message box

hi everyone.
I'm sure this is going to be a simple fix. I have a computer that when I attach a file it shows up in the message box as opposed to the attach field. As a result it doesn't actually send the file as it is not really attached. I can't find the option to change this. Any help would be great

Sorry...forgot to mention I'm using Outlook express.
