I'm having a problem with a user. New install of W2000 pro, office XP. Trying to attach a document from a networked drive, outlook freezes. Once it reaches a certain path it is unable to display the attachment choices.

This is a large folder on the server. Other folders are displayed properly. It seems to just time out while trying to list items in this folder. However, explorer is able to list these items just fine, and relatively quickly. Pulling attachments manually (drag and drop) in works, but the user is a royal b*tch who doesn't like that idea. I need to find out why Outlook in particular is unable, only on her computer to list these items. Any suggestions? I'm getting roasted here for the dumbest stuff, and it's really getting frustrating.

As it turns out, this isn't just an outlook problem. It's an office XP problem. I'm unable to browse large folders over a network using office XP, locks up Word, Excel, Outlook equally. Went back to Office 2000 and it works fine, but I really need this user on XP for Access at least, and I'd like to find out if there's something causing XP to time out sooner....

What OS is the networked drive running? I've seen this with Office XP on Novell. Also, could be antivirus slowing down your browsing, when using Office XP.
