Attach cookie to an HTTPS request

We are trying, from either an ASP or a VB COM client (VBScript) to attach a cookie string into an HTTPS request. This is a persistent cookie, not one that we pull out of the session, but we need the server receiving the POST to read it just like a regular cookie. It is an HTTPS request, in case that complicates things.

Anyone have a code snippet for adding this?
