I have a Cisco 3662 Router. We have exceeded the Capacity of a T1 Fram Cloud so we are looking at upgrading to an ATM circuit at 4.5Mb. What module would I need to have to support this type of circuit?

Thanks,

Kris McElroy

I don't remember any ATM circuit running at 4.5mbps. I will think additional T1 line will run much cheaper or even a T3.

Yeah..... T3's are REALLY expensive, and it seems like upgrading from 1 T1 to a T3 is a little overkill. I agree with UNIX72, I've never heard of a 4.5 mbps, so we are guessing you meant 45mbps=T3. Let us know what kind of line you are getting.

If I remember right about ATM from last time I looked into it the speed on you ATM interface is more like a max speed, so if the ATM card should support all ATM speedsettings from the cards max and down.

I think that I asked Unisys about what interface cards I should buy if I wanted to run 4 Mbps ATM. He said 155 Mbps (price was almost the same as a 45Mbps interface card)

I could be wrong, but that is how I remember it, but this was for a 7206.

Right Now I have 4 T1 Frame Clouds. I talked with SWB and she said that I could get an ATM IMA cloud at 3MB for $1,000 a month. 4.5MB ATM IMA for $1,300 a month. I just need to know what module to use for the atm line.
