I have the atm16 analog module , I have no problems setting up for incoming , to go do the digital phones.

using IPoffice

Isssue that im having is when i pick up the phone to dial out it just picks a radom trunk ,

any one know how to just pickup the phone and have it use the analog trunk that is set up for. as in the incoming call route

I dont want to have people using some els line when they could expect a call and then line is in use by another person

Thanks
Bill

Give each line another outgoing ID and create a usershortcode for outgoing using the corresponding line ID.

Its not random, it cycles thru the lines that are enabled, you will need to give the lines different outgoing ID's then create a short code so that the users calls go out the specific lines, or can dial a prefix which will alllow line selection

Sure restrictions would be good if he has several people who need acces to the same individual lines otherwise you have to type about the same amount to accomplish the same thing.

Sixteen user codes vs sixteen restrictions to access twelve different lines. Could go either way.

It would depend on if they have existing restrictions or not in my opinion. If they already have restrictions set up and have given them to users then it would make sense to try to incorporate into the existing restrictions.

Really its a matter of convience for the programmer. If restrictions are already set up then I would go that way to make matters consistent. However if restrictions are not set up then I would calculate between the two methods based on time to implement.

No existing restrictions:

Method 1: Create one user short code per user to access his/her personal line.

Method 2: Create one restriction per user that contains one user short code to access his/her personal line and assign the restriction to the user.

Existing restrictions:

Method 1: Create one user short code per user to access his/her personal line.

Method 2: Analyze the restrictions. Will likely need to create new restrictions since existing restrictions apply to all that use a particular restriction. Create one restriction per user that contains one user short code to access his/her personal line. Remove existing restriction and assign the new restriction to the user.

Remember that the users need to access different trunks so one restriction for all users is out the window. You can gauge how long it will roughly take just by typing out the procedures. The shortest procedure gets you home quicker.

Thanks again guys, starting tommrow on it , i belive for now the simple way for me is to create the short codes to match the outgoing ID.

Will give it a shot, another quesion,

how can you pick up the phone and have it go right to the outgoing ID instead of having to press a button/sht code.

Is this possible

Thanks again
Bill
