I'm trying to get started making a pretty basic menu system on our Definity Audix voicemail system. I'm told we have the software/hardware we need, but I'm not able to see any menu choices which seem to be the logical first step. Do you have any suggestions ?

Thanks
Tim

What I think you are refering to is the Auto Attendant feature with menu or selector code choices.

The first step is to list cos to see if there is any auto attendant class of services created in your voicemail system.

If not you should create one for a numbers auto attendant and one for a names auto attendant if you wish. Use a cos that has not been modified yet and is higher up in the cos list. (This way you do not change one that is already in service.)

In the cos you are creating, set the cos to numbers or names addressing and the service type to auto attendant.
If set to names, then the auto attendant COS can be used for names directories or dialing by name. If set to numbers then it is number addressing.

Next add a new subscriber number for your main menu auto attendant with the COS being changed to one of these COS
you made up. This will enable the third page form for the selector codes 0-9 and time out.

It is here that you now have your choice of "e" extension transfer, <ext #> transfer or <ext#> call answer.

To set up menus and submenus, you will have to set up multiple auto attendant mailboxes and use the selector codes to point the caller to the next auto attendant mailbox. To do this enter the next auto attendant mailbox number beside the selector code and then use call-answer to rout the caller directly to the next auto attendant mailbox.

This can be done with many mailboxes and the call-answer selector code option.

There is a lot more that can be said, however, reading the administration manual to do this would be highly recommended.
