Hi Everyone,

I am installing a Laser Mobile Rack into my system.

The instructions say it has an ATA66 cable and is for the 3600-7200 RPM HDD.

Question:

Can I install my ATA100 HDD into the Laser Mobile Rack when it has an ATA66 cable?
Is the ATA100 device compatible with an ATA66 cable?

Thank you
Bobafett...

The ATA66 cable is what is known as an ultra 80 core and is capable of carrying much higher data transfer rates that just 66mb/sec.
For instance, this ATA66 ultra cable is supplied with the new crop of motherboards that support the new ATA133 standard.
So basically an ATA66 cable is required for setups using the older ATA66 hard drives OR FASTER!! Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.
