ata2 ringing at fax 1

I have searched the threads on the ata2 and have installed it correctly. I have this behind a compact ICS using the third line for system,fax and dsl. All works well, but my question is ringing on system phones when a fax comes in. I was under the impression that the ata2 would sense the fax call and take it before it rang on the system. I have checked programing and cannot find anything on this. Any help would be appreciated.

The ATA2 is just an analog converter from digital not a fax switch.

The CICS has a built in ATA on port 117 of the Line Amp cable:
Pin 20 Yl/Sl 117 I-ATA default DN's 37 or 237 or 2237

It also has Fax detection which can then send it to the internal ATA.
You must have the built in Auto Attendant answer line 3 in order for it to work....not the Voice Mails Auto Attendant.

Thank you for the replys to my question about the ata2! I had a Stick switch and that is what I used. After I progeamed it, it worked great.
