Hello,

Just installed an ATA2 on a 616 with DR2. The problem is line 2 will not ring the ATA2. Line 1 will ring normally and both line 1 and line 2 programming is identical, i.e. Line Data and Line access. Both lines are assigned and are set to ring. Calling the ATA from another extensions works fine and the outgoing line pool works fine as well.

Is there something I'm missing or an imcompatibility issue?

Compatibility guide says ATA2 should work on anything later than DR1.

Thanks

Chris

try putting a digital phone on the port and see if line 2 rings it then putting the ATA-2 back on. this'll do two things: 1 prove your ringing programming and 2 cause the port to reset when you put the ATA-2 back on it.

1. put a digital phone on it and it rings normally on all three incoming lines as it should.

2. put the ata2 back on and the same problem returns. rings on line 1 but not on 2 or 3.

3. changed to an EATA and had the exact same results.

4. changed ports and still have the same result...

not my day...

ata is a SINGLE line device key word here is SINGLE.May work on a HG or a answer dn...as in a set has lines 1,2,and 3 and answer dn "ringing set is assigned to ata..kinda doubt you have answer dn know u dont have hg

I have programmed ata's MANY times before. I understand that it is a SINGLE line device. However, I have ALWAYS been ables to program multiple lines to rings to it - They just can only be answered one at a time.

I'm am at a loss on this one. any other suggestions?

possible but remember that line 1 works properly and it is primed to set 21 as are the other lines.

In DR2, you assign the lines (line access)to the set and then toggle the ringing separately under "ringing".

I just read another post on another forum which had the exact same problem, although the tech had DR1. He changed to DR5 and the problem vanished. I checked the SP version number and it indicates DR2 which should be compatible unless it is an early version. Logging in to programming does require a password indicating something later than DR1.

Hmmm...

And as far as having it work, the design intent was a single line device and making it work doesnt mean it will always work
