Currently running an Asus p2b ACPI BIOS REVISION 1011 (according to my system file) or an ASUS p299 100 Mhz (according to my PC invoice) with a 466 Celeron.

Can I drop a Celeron 1ghz CPU into this board?

Thanks.

Nope.
The multiplier of that board won't go that high (10x100 for the Celeron). I think you're limited to the 800E PIII (8x100) not the 800EB. Cheers,
Jim

Comtech is 100% right. I have the same board and I did a
little study a month ago trying to upgrade it. That's exactly
what I get from the t.support of ASUS. 800 and no more.
I am planning to get a VIA 1g soldered on the mobo ( I am
trying to keep a ISA bus ) and a VIA w/ mobo cost about 20%
more than just a mere celeron 800. Do you think it justifies ?
