Asus A7N8X MOBO reporting CPU as 1253 instead of 2600+. The Jumper on the board is set correctly. Reported correct CPU type once and not since. Anybody any ideas

Sounds like the ASUS BIOS did a CPR (CPU Parameter Recall) and put the CPU back to a 'safe' setting.

Go into the BIOS and pick the 2100 speed for the CPU speed setting (since a 2600+ runs at 2100MHz).
