Hi Everyone:
First I want to say hi to all, I'm new at this forum. I was search answers to the problem I'm having with my video card and came across this forum in the search engine, very helpful.
I have a problem with my video card driver and am wondering if anyone can help me. I have an ASUS AGP 7700 Deluxe, ASUS CUV4X-E motherboard on Windows 2000 SP3. The video driver I'm using now is version 6.49 from the CD I got with the video card. Whenever I tried updating any drivers from ASUS web site the computer won't go into windows (right after windows 2000 splash screen) after rebooting. I have tried the referrence drivers from nVidia and I have no problem, but I want to use the extra feature from the ASUS Shell program that's why I want to stick with the ASUS driver. With version 12.49 it kept on restarting and with the newer ones I get "Unexpected_kernel_trap" and had memory dumps. I search on the ASUS web site and it said PC Anywhere 10 is causing problem with their drivers, and the way to fix that problem is to change the video mode in pc anywhere to "compatablity". Well it didn't fix my problem and kernel trap still happens. Then I've tried uninstalling pc anywhere all together but the problem persists. Does anyone have any idea what causes the problem?
System configuration:
ASUS CUV4X-E, VIA chipset without 4 in 1 driver
ASUS AGP7700 Deluxe GeForce 2 GTS
Sound Blaster Live 5.1
Window 2000 Professional SP3
Thanks in advance.
