Asus F3Sr Laptop - Fn + Sound Keys not working 1

Hi all,

A customer has an Asus F3Sr Laptop. The sound on the laptop works fine using the Windows Audio Controls. However the customer wants to use Fn key along with F11 or F12 to turn the sound up and down but this no longer works.

Other Fn + F keys work such as brightness.

I think it is somelike one of the previously install start up programs has been disabled which controls this as the laptop has had these cleaned up due to a problem with the install.

Does anyone have any ideas how this problem can be resolved?

What have you tried so far?

Is there a simple install program for the hotkeys associated with that laptop?

I have an Asus M6N laptop, c. 2003. Still works great, but I notice I've lost the Fn volume control too for some reason. I hardly ever use it without an external keyboard, but I'll try poking around to see if I can help.

I solved this by adding hcontrol.exe to the startup processes!
