Sorry if this is a newb question but i have looked and looked and cannot figure out what an *(astrisk) before a function call is used for. For example, I am looking at writing a service and am using PerlSvc package from activestate. To continue your servie running you can call *ContinueRun. What does the * do? Thanks!!

Have a look for "typeglob" in the `perldata'.
