AST & IAPG Prompt

I am configuring an ordinary digital extension to be have its calls recorded. I have been advised by my telco vendor that I need to change the AST prompt to 00 and IAPG to 1.

Would somebody be able to advise me what these prompts do as I thought I only needed to change these prompts if I wanted to set-up recording on ACD an M3905 phone that has an ACD and an extension button.

As I Know Ast and IAPG are not used for recording but are used if you are using symposium or something like that.
AST indicate the key till the TAPI can control the call.

Those represent the keys the 3rd party is going to have a link too (AST) so the main SCR on key zero will be AST 00
iapg assigns the keys to that message group (1)
