New job with phone admin duties, new to the phone world.

Have a new employee - gave her a phone M7310, already has Ext: 123.
It has no Line Assignment (when I navigate to Line Assignment, nothing is there, like my phone has L169).

This new person needs a DID - I'm assuming I need to assign a Line to this set/terminal.

Q. Is there a way to find a list of unused/unassigned Lines that I can assign to this set? (or does it even work that way)

DID's - Direct Inward Dial is what you probably have
Target Lines in programming, where you point DID's to sets.

You may need some training or have a tech do this.
There is admin programming for the client which does not have line assignments and there is configuration programming for techs.

You dont have to give them a DID unless they do need a private line....unless they are special 2 way DID's.
The do need access to call out however under pool access.

I always give a client a spread sheet so they can keep track of their lines for clients like you who try to do the techs job.

When programming target lines I always name the line with at least the last four digits of the line so it will be easier to find later.

Thx Curly,

Yes, she needs a private DID. She is already part of a Pool, her phone can dial "9" and make outbound calls.

This company (from my understanding) will be implementing a new phone system and are not paying for support for this one (ridiculous, I'm not a phone guy, but at least I got a job and I'm trying to make due).

I cannot find any documentation from previous staff of Line Assignments - currently working with AT&T to get a list of DID's that we have/billed for.
Basically, I'd like to duplicate my phone to hers (except different DID)
My Phone - Ext: 226; L169; DID XXX-XXX.XXXX (weird though, when I go to my Line Assignment, I cannot see my DID - is that normal)?
