Hi,

I have inherited an AD domain. On the domain every time somebody logs on they get assigned a default gateway that I would like to change.

Only trouble is I don't know where it's coming from. The netlogon share contains nothing and I couldn't spot anything obvious in the AD config.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers

Is your users obtaining IP addresses from DHCP? If so you can change the gateway address there.

Are you using DHCP if so it's probably set in the scope.

No, they have static addresses.

Each time they logon I change the DG, but as soon as they restart it reverts back.

Do they use any form of mandatory profile?

If so it could be part of that.

You say "they" does that mean it is happening to all machines or just an individual machine?

Hi,

It is happening to all 4 users on this domain. None of the accounts have profiles set up.

Thanks

NIC settings are machine specific NOT user specific, are you modifying default gateway information on your machines whilst logged on as a local administrator?

Why not just set up DHCP, i know you only have small number of machines - but it does make life mich simpler in the long run!

A bit more info on your setup might help.

Some routers have DHCP built in, has yours?

Guys,

I configured DHCP and all is now well.

Thanks for your help
