I have a site with frames enabled with an asp page that creates some of the menu items in the left frame based on login. One item is required to use https and we have the certificate installed. If I right click on the link and open in new window the SSL lock appears on the bottom of the screen. If I allow the frames to work the SSL fails.
We originally had hardcoded frames that once it went to the https: it would make all further links https:
Has anyone got any advice on getting ssl to work with frames without everything being secured?

Thanks.

To my knowledge, it won't let you. If it were to say everything were secured (showing the lock and https) when there were links from the unsecured areas to the secured areas, then people would have a false sense of security. They'd think it was secure when it wasn't. If everything were using SSL, then it WOULD be secure, and there would be no need for us to be talking. :)

If I'm wrong though, let me know. -Ovatvvon :-Q

I had a similiar problem. I solved it by opening the secure frames in a new window. The locks will display correctly if you do this.
