ASP frames and https

I have a site with frames enabled with an asp page that creates the menu items in the left frame. One item is required to use https and we have the certificate installed.
If I right click on the link and open in new window the SSL lock appears on the bottom of the screen. If I allow the frames to work the SSL fails.
We originally had hardcoded frames that once it went to the https: it would make all further links https:

Dont want that but want dynamic menus from the frame.

Any ideas?
