When i create boot floppy disk for a Windows 2000 server using Boot Kit wizard in Arcserver 2000.

The wizard ask me to insert Windows NT setup disk. But the server is Windows 2000..why?

But for other windows 2000 servers,it is normal, asking for Windows 2000 setup disk.

(The strange server is Arcserver backup server itself.)

Any idear? thanks!

Make sure you are :

1 Patched up to SP5.

2 The backup you are making has a full green checkbox at the machine name level and that no filters are being used.

Run the bootdisk wizard again.

Thanks. Both the server and client are patched up to SP5.

One thing i found is the backup server itself is backup through "my computers" instead of using "Client agents"

So should i backup the server itself using "Client agents".

If it's a local host server then backing up through 'My Computer' is correct. Did you check there was a full green checkbox beside the computername, and if there wasn't run a backup using a full green checkbox beside the name and try again ?

Additionally - you cannot use generic bootdisks for Win2K so make sure you are using machine specific disk in the boot kit wizard.
