Hi,

I have Sybase 11.9.2 installed on a sun box and using "Sybase 11" ODBC to connect to it from WIN-NT

Now I got another sun box installed with ASE 12.0 and want all my applications to use the new box.

Will it be possible for me to have both "Sybase 11" as well as ASE-12 drivers on the same machine? So that I can switch over to any machine as and when I feel.

OR does it overwrites the Win-NT Registry and restricts me to having only one driver installed at one time on my machine.

Thanks,

RajD

hello,

why don't you test installing both drivers and check your odbc administrator tool in your winnt machine and check whether you have both the system11 and system12 drivers... assuming of course that you are installing the pc/client sybase software package...

to test switching back and forth, you would have to choose the system plugin depending on the system you want to use... if you are installing sybase central and sql advantage, go to sybase central, go to tools and select plug-ins and select the desired system... this should also set you up for sql advantage...

hope this helps,
q.
