My persist.dat was corrupted, no back up of it. As I am setting switches back up, I am not see a way to recover my call traffic and processory occupancy reports. It simply starts a new file. If I rename the old files it still does not see the information. Is there anyway to recover this old data?

I've never been sucessful with trying to recover call traffic data without rolling back to an old persist.dat. I Of course, I have always lost a day or two.

misjlr,

Can't be done. Unless Avaya has been keeping something from users there are no tools available to correct a persist.dat file. I've been asking them to add a back-up option within ASA, but that does not seem to be a priority.

I back-up my USER folder (which contains the persist.dat and traffic files) daily.

FYI-I manage several copies of my USER folder and change between them all the time. For example, one copy is for current traffic measurements, one copy for 2002 traffic measurements, one copy is pulling data from a specific PBX, one copy runs security related reports, etc. I've found that with 60+ targets it's easier to customized what I'm looking for vs. keeping one large file that does everything.

Good luck! WHCARon
