I am trying to administer our switch via ASA/GEDI but keep getting a communications error “Network Connection Failed” message.

I have the IP Address as 10.29.110.15 port 5023 just as configured in our switch, however keep getting this error?

Any ideas or direction to trouble shoot would be appreciated.

Is the IP Interface enabled? Did you assign a Data Module to port 17 on the C-LAN board? Can you ping the C-LAN board from your PC?

Kevin

•Data Module has been assigned to port 17 on the C-LAN Board.
•C-LAN can be pinged successfully from PC.

Where can I verify the IP interface is enabled? System Parameters?

disp IP-services. Make sure there is a sat service administered for the clan you are trying to use.

I thought you couldn't use GEDI on systems older than R11. However, if I'm mistaken then possibly its the SAT service I mentioned before.

Can you connect using terminal emulator "CTRL-E"?

GEDI is CTRL-G but Emulator is CTRL-E. I use them both for various reasons.

Does it need to be changed to 10.29.110.15 from 10.29.110.1?

The 10.29.110.1 should be the Router address. Does your subnet mask agree with your LAN configuration?

Kevin

After changing the router address from 10.29.110.1 to 10.29.110.15 I was able to connect via ASA.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!
