AS400 Permissions for SQL Server Query

I am in the process of setting up an AS400 as a linked server in SQL Server 2000 and our ERP administrator wanted to know what permissions should be assigned to the user account I will be using to connect to the physical files. It was suggested in the SQL Server Programming forum to post the question here. Any thoughts?
