I have an old AS/400 B50 with 25GB of disk space.
Unfortunately my operator is away at the moment. I realise this is a bit vague but could anybody give a vague idea of how long the following will take:

1. SAVSYS with data compression on
2. SAVLIB (*NONSYS) with data compression on (using 8mm,7GB cartridges)

Are we talking few(<3) or many(>6)?

Well, not giving you an answer here, BUT.

Our system 9406-500 with the 7 GB 8mm tape (native, not compressed) takes about just over 4 hours to write to one tape.

Thanks JRjuliano. I posted this item as I was pushed for time and wondered how long I would need to wait.

If you are interested the actual times were:

SAVSYS took 1.5 hours onto a 2GB cartridge.
SAVLIB took 6 hours to compress and write about 20 GB to a 7GB 8mm tape.
