AS11 - E2246 Multiplexing device error

Hi there,

AS11 server connected with DLT8000 tape drive.

I submitted a new job with multiplexing, however it didn't work for me with error msg "E2246 Multiplexing device error. Abort the job..."

At destination tab, I checked the box multiplexing, for group/media/media pool, I put *

Just wondering if this E2246 error was related to wrong configuration? Or my DLT8000 tape drive did not support multiplexing at all?

Hi,

Yes I am getting this same error. Have you resolved the issue. My guess is BAB is not detecting the blank tape.

Do you have further info on this?

I given up of multiplexing as i don't have support from vendor, sorry about it

Multi plexing is not device dependent.

Off hand I can't say what the reason is. Something like this you really need to copy that portion of the log in.

By the way if you don't have it already get the 11.1 update and the 11.1 Tape Engine update.

I had the same problem and used a cleaning tape in the device and then ran the job again and it worked.
