AS 9 Freezes Server When Asking for New Tape

When my tapes get full and arcserve requests a new tape, all network activity on my server is halted. We run applications on this server as well, so when the tapes fill up and the insert new tape message pops up, everyone loses connectivity. Is there a setting in the software to prevent this from happening??

We use W2k server with sp 3

Check for a sharing of resources between the NIC and SCSI controller, such as the same IRQ.
