When you try to write data to a Serial Bus Protocol 2 (SBP-2) device, such as an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 1394 drive, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
• The drive stops responding.
• The drive disappears from My Computer

Thanks so much for your help BCASTNER. I had that drive as a Picture storage and didn't use for about 3 months.

While I hooked it uo it took me A LONG TIME to realize something ELSE was wrong.

I believe I'm just goint to put it in a USB2 Case for $12.00.

Thanks for you great input
