Hey everyone I was hoping you could help me with a problem. I have created entries in the ARS to facilitate 10 digit dialing. Now what has come up is all area exchanges work perfectly with the 7 digit dialing, but with 10 digit dialing 1 does not work at all and one(which the campus is a part of) only works with off campus numbers.

e.g

7995563 works(on campus)
7992211 works(off campus)
3059321 works
2087995563 does not work(on campus)
2087992211 does work (off campus)
2083059321 does not work

I am using the same routes for both the 7 and 10 digit dialing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank-you in advance.

Zach

Can you post a screen shot of your ARS table and your route patterns? Are you doing any digit-manipulation?

Now I apologize I inherited this system about 9 months ago and have been teaching myself a chunk, I just have not run into this as of yet. I am not doing any digit manipulation at this time

When you say:

"2087992211 does work (off campus)"

Is that from a cell phone? Most of the time, the cellular phone companies will strip the area code off if it is not needed through their own routing.

It looks like your local dialing is 7 digit and that if you are sending 10 digits the CO is denying the call.

Is all of 799 local?

Is all of 305 local?

It looks like you need to send the calls going to 208 with 10 digits to their own Route Pattern and strip off the area code.

Ya 799,798,791,743,746,305,758,751,750 are all local exchanges. 305 is wireless. 799 is not wireless.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I went in and setup digit conversion to strip off the area code when dialed 10 digits.

Works flawlessly now
