arhhhh, im stupid help me

I am in the middle of creating a website, and ok this may be me being completley stupid, but i dont seem to be able to open my quicktime movies from within my flash website.

Whenever i link to a quicktime movie, it is automticlay emedded. I just want it to open the the movie within the quicktime player, but instead it opens a big blank white page with my movie embedded in the middle.

I did find a way of rectiying this by creating a qtl (quick time link) file. And this managed to open the movie in the player, but when i uploaded this onto the site, i recieved the following error message

Basicaly all i need to know is.......how do i link to a quicktime movie so it opens in the quicktime player and not embedded onto a seperate page?

This has been driving me crazy, so i will be very greatful to anyone who can help.
