We just had an area code addition. We have a Definity R6 and when we dial 9 to get out it doesn't work. I know I have to add a 1 in front of my current area code and then add the new area code as well.
Where do I make these changes in the routing pattern or ars? Half of our phones can't dial out by pressing 9! I have no idea what I'm doing but I know that I need to add that 1, and both area codes.

whats the full number you are trying to dial.

The 9 for an outside line is a feature access code (ch fea) for auto route selection.

Try 'change ars analysis 1'. Add the new area code 1xxx, minimum 11, maximum 11, home of foreign NPA (hnpa/fnpa) and the Route Pattern that you will use.

I did a change ars analysis 1 and entered the existing area code which I guess I didn't have to but I think I had to put a 1 in front of it. I put in the new area code 1xxx also and it still isn't working. It's only some of the extensions all of a sudden.

The FRL on your Route Pattern is probably blocking you. There are 2 options: Raise the FRL on the station COR or lower the FRL on the Route Pattern.
