Greetings all!

We have been using BEWS 9.1 for this past year now. I must say that it wasn't easy migrating from ArcServe to BEWS 9.1 due to the problems we encountered and still are encountering. I often browse the various user forums and from what I've seen so far convinces me that this version is far from stable and still full of problems. Their support is a joke also. You can no longer post e-mails to their support site but only to a moderated forum. You'd be lucky to get a reply from a Veritas support engineer!

I would like to know whether any of you have managed to make BEWS plus certain options work successfully. Besides BEWS we also have the following options installed:

Advanced Open File Agent
SQL Agent
Lotus Domino Agent
Oracle Agent
Intelligent Disaster Recovery Agent

Would appreciate any feedback on this. Veritas have released also ver 10 but I am not convinced to migrate to this version yet.

Thanks
Pierre

We have two W2K servers running BE 10 in our two offices. Prior to upgrading we ran 9.1 for about a year(?). The only options we have are remote agents and OFO.
9.1 had a number of problems, however every time I called them they would either give me the answer or find one within a day or two. IMSHO their phone support is the best in the business. In fact I now fear this level of support will not be kept up new that Symantec owns them.
The only problem I had repeatedly in 9.1 was the secondary backups I do each night to hard drives on another system. The HD device would just go off line once every week or two. I eventually decided it was far easier to delete the target folder on the system we were backing up to and re-create a backup to HD folder than to try to find the cause.
We went to 10 about a month ago and have not had single problem with our extant backups. I am having a problem with another system I am trying to bring on line for HD backups, but haven't had time to check it out prior to calling for support...
