ArcserveIT 6.61, error E4101 Unable to login to database engine.

I have Arcserve 6.61(Build 831SP1) running a daily backup on our NT 4.0 server and continue to recieve the error:

E4101 Unable to login to database engine.(DATABASE=ARCSERVE, EC=-1003)

It appears to backup successfully. I have created a new job, changed the usernames on the services and in Arcserve Server Admin. I've searched CA's website but can't find a resolution to my issue.

If someone has a possible answer, let me know.

I don't know if there's a better way, but I did an uninstall/re-install (for a seperate issue) that fixed this problem for me. Monkeylizard

It is possible the arcserve database has some coruption in it. You might try restoring the databse prior to the problems you are having. Yes you would lose all the backups in the database after that date, but you can merge the tapes if you have to.
 
1003 = Cannot complete this function. Unable to log into database = rights.
Either the arcserve system account has issues or the database engine needs to login using the arcserve system account
