Howdy,

Does ArcServe require an exchange client (outlook, etc) or The Exchange Client to send email alerts?

If the later, is there a way to send email alerts without Notes or Exchange? (we're running iMail)

I think all you need is snmp but I haven't played with alerts myself. I am almost sure that you do NOT need exchange or notes.
