ArcServe v7 Netware - help using filters from console restore.

Hi all,

To give you some background on my on-going struggles please read here: thread478-442486 I cannot view all sessions in ArcServe Manager when I need to perform a restore.

When I tried to perform a restore from the NW console it takes an age!! I am using the correct syntax (i think). I also specify the session no. but arcserve seems to have to scan through the whole tape which makes me think the file filters are incorrect.

Can anybody help me with filters?? I have looked at

which describes filters but its a bit vague.

Does any one have any tips on restores using filters.

Basically, the only two filters to need to worry about are:

File Pattern
Directory

As "File Pattern" states, you can specify to only select a certain document type (*.DOC for example) or specify the wildcard *.* if all files are required.

With "Directory", you have to specify the directory path where the files to be restored are. Goes something like this (note the \ after the volume name - is required):

VOL1:\USERS\MYUSER -----------------------------------------------------
