Hi,
BAB 11.1 \ 3100 \ Windows 2003 Server \ SP1

BAB backs up all the files successfully except a file called “ntuser.dat.log”. In the Brighstor log, there is no information about the file saying” file is skipped” or “can’t be backed up”.
The backup is reported successful, however, is no files are listed under “restore by session” or “restore by tree”.
Even the scan log doesn’t show up the file as backed up.

NTBACKUP is able to backup these files successfully.

So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

Either the OS skips the backup of the file under a filesnottobackup reg key somewhere, or ARCserve automatically excludes this from all backups (not a job option). If arcserve is automatically skipping it you'll probably find that a backup to backup just that file will report as successful but no files will be reported as backed up and no errors. If it is the latter, I believe this is hard coded.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. After some digging around I stumble upon the fact that if I install the Windows Client agent on the BAB server and backup this file, it is able to grab the file.

So it Shall be Written!
