Using Arcserve 9.0 build 2020 on Windows 2000 server in a AD domain. We purchased an Iomega NAS server and are getting "no media" when creating FSD devices from the arcserve server. We set the tape engine to use the domain admin account and also set the NAS share/security permissions to match. Same results. The NAS is running Windows 2000 SP2.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marlon

File system devices in BAB 9 are not designed to be on a remote machine or a NAS share. You should only create FSDs on the local server.

Your best bet is to upgrade to BAB r11, which has a new feature that allows users to create file system devices on remote machines and NAS boxes. You specify the location using a UNC path.
