Arcserve & HP VS80 Slimline DLT Drive

Hi - Just wondering if anyone is using Arcserve 7 or later with an HP VS80 DLT drive?

If so are you getting very slowdata throughout rates to it?

It looks exactly the same as a fault with the HP DDS5 Drives using the wrong block factor but i have not been able tofind if it is this or what the correctblock factor should be setto.

Any helpwould be appreciated.

stopped tape engine
got into registry and change the default block factor.
under the tape engine key device corresponding. it to
Value Name: DefaultBlockFactor
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 7 <-- Hex
7 = 65,536 (64K)
Then restart tape engine service.
Remind that changing key registry could be dangerous

Cheers for that - Suprise that its the same BlockFactor as the DDS5.

In fact, in the last device update the problem should be fixed without changing the registry.
But as AS 7.0 is no more supported.....

-Sorry Found the key, but didn't find the DefaultBlockFactor.

We are running ArcServe v11.1

I'm experiencing similar issues. I am leaning towards a hardware issue though.

Along with very slow data rates 6mb/min, I cannot use Server Admin to stop the Tape Engine to stop the job.

You have to create the DefaultBlockFactor key as a DWORD and set it to 7.
