Hello-
I am using ARCserve to perform some copies of data on a daily basis to a NAS device to then BU to tape. I was wondering if when performing a copy if there is any way to set up the job so that it selects a different directory to copy into. Each day I would like to auto create a directory YYYYMMDD then have the copy run into that newly created directory. Any thoughts ideas or suggestions. thanks

No, I don't think there is a way to do this automatically.

It might not be the best solution, but here is something to think about.

Map a drive to the NAS box, and then setup FSD File System Devices to it. Different directories can be created and one FSD to each. ARCserve will treate each as a tape and so it will automatically use the different directories just like it would use different tapes. Then tapecopy can be used to put it to tape.

It is more trouble to setup, but once done it could be less work.
