Arcserve 9 manager, unable to login to Novell 5

Hi, I am new to this forum..

Anyway, I have replaced someone in a tech position, Organisatoin is running Novell 5 with Brightor Arcserve 9.

I don't think the previous fella was using Arcserve Manger (the windows client s/ware) to set up his backups.

I was trying to submit a full backup using AS Manager but kept getting login problems when submitting the job. Any ideas? Already tried NDS login. usersname.tree.container etc...

be sure that the NetWare backup server and the Windows manager station can ping each other both by name and IP-adress.
Sometimes you have to edit the 'hosts' files on both machines to achieve this.

I don't thin we have IP working on our novell server.

1. How do I enable IP?
2. Can arcserve9 communicate without IP, ie, IPX/SPX only?

Thanks for the link Cyklops.

I think there was something screwy going on with the laptop that the AS9 Manager was installed on. I re-built it then re-installed AS9. Everything is fine now.
