Hi all,
I am running Arcserve 9.01 sp5 on Windows 2000 sp4 server which is also the Exxchange 2000 server. I am having difficulty with the brick level backup stopping after a few mailboxes and restarting the whole backup process immediately without generating any errors.
This is the log entry which is repeated continuously until I manually stop the job.

I was going to include the data from the tape log but I have just discovered that I am getting an error message:
seek failed on tapelog.
The tape log is 4.2 GB and has not been written to for a number of days.
Can I safely rename this file or do I then lose all information?
Thanks

Yes, you should rename that huge file. At first stop the Tape Engine, and rename tape.log to tape.log.old for example. After this create an empty file called tape.log and start the Tape Engine.
What is your message level setting for Tape Engine?

Thanks pakilaci,
I had done that and discovered that the file is corrupted, giving a disk read error.
The tape message level is set to detail.
The backup completed except for the the brick level backup which processes a number of mailboxes and then restarts without generating a noticeable error.
Any ideas on that one?
