Arcserve 7 for Netware Manager slow

From the NW console (local or remote)enter
TAPESVR DISABLE WRITES
This effectivly disconnects the tape device allowing Arcserve to run at full speed. This will show if its a SCSI/tape drive problem or not.
Also try to archive part of a local drive on the server to
eliminate the network.
Have you run the "test tape" utility ?
