ArcServe 2000 Unable to get Device Group Status EC=3221225477

Hi,

I re-installed Arcserve2000 in our win2K server. No problem to mount the tapes but got this problem when I ran backup.

Unable to get device group status. DevGroup=Group1 EC=3221225477

In the cause/solution, it asked me check the media_error_code and I think it's 3221225477, but I still dont know what that means and how to solve it accordingly. Please kindly help!!

When you re-installed, did you re-create the Group1? In the Device Manager screen, go to Device Groups and see what the group name is. If you are trying to run jobs created on the old system, it is possible that the old group does not exist.

WOW, you are right, I didn't re-created the group name. The device group configuration shows 0 in there, and I guess the old one was 1 no wonder it failed.

But I have more new problem now, ie I can't start the job engine. I got this license violation problem and when I try to start the job engine I got timeout.

E12002 <3NUB> Arcserver license failure terminating....Please run the properly license...

Get a valid OFL file. Call for support.

Do you know where the OFL file located? Couldn't find from the CD. When I go to ca.com, it shows we need to purchase from CA directly or/and get a service contract otherwise we can only get eSupport that is online database stuff. Our s/w came w/ our IBM eServer.

We have the copyright CD for workgroup edition. Could you please let me know what file contains the license information? How come during the installation, it didn't ask my the license or CD-Key at all?
